Create Fall Leaves from Paper Towels!

By Marie Folmar September 18, 2014
Take your kids on a hike to look at the trees in their fall glory for a little pre-crafting inspiration. They can even pick up a few fallen leaves to use as a template for this project that will recreate the beauty of fall for your indoor decorations!

Supplies:
  • Paper Towels
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • Wax coated paper plate or plastic plate
  • Washable markers
  • Spray bottle filled with water
Cut a leaf shape from a paper towel sheet. Use a template (or an actual leaf!) to trace the shape onto the towel or just cut it free-hand.

Place the paper towel leaf on the plate. Use the white glue to create the vein lines in your leaf. Allow to dry overnight.

Use the washable markers to make patches of color on the leaf. Leave some white area around the coloring.

Spray the colored leaf with the water...ooh and ahh as the colors "melt" into one another.

Allow to dry over night.

Remove from plate and use to decorate for fall!
