Cereal Turkey: Thanksgiving Craft for All Ages

By Christel M. Hoydic ~ Macaroni Kid Middleown November 5, 2015

Go ahead! Play with your food and create this adorable, colorful turkey for Thanksgiving.

This is an easy, fun fine motor activity for kids of all ages. The best part is that you may even have the materials needed right in your cabinet.

For younger kids this activity also practices gluing, color identification and matching. For older kids you can write the color names in individual places and allow them to practice reading the words and matching. Even older kids? Simply show them the finished piece and have them to create their own masterpiece.

Supplies Needed:
  • Bowl of Cheerios
  • Bowl of Fruit Loops
  • Glue
  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Googly eyes
Directions:
  1. Draw a circle, 5 wings, 2 legs, and 2 feet to create the turkey outline (nothing fancy needed here).
  2. Glue the Cheerios on the body of the turkey and the colored Fruit Loops for each of the feathers. Add googly eyes and a Fruit Loop or two for the turkey’s beak and waddle.
This is a perfect time filler craft while waiting for dinner, or even something fun to do while eating breakfast on Thanksgiving day!
