We adore this playground and have returned several times since its rebuild. It's a wonderful, compact playground with a lot of entertaining features and play structures where kids can have fun while you keep an eye on them no matter where they are. It is not fenced in, but it is placed back from the road and down a hill, making it feel very secure.
The climbing mound in the center of the playground is the coolest feature. It has rocks to climb, a rope to hold onto, and a slide to ride down. My kids absolutely love climbing all over it.
A second structure that makes this play ground stand out is the webbed climbing structure: multiple kids (and adults!) can climb and explore at the same time. There are also additional elements closer to the ground for varying ages and abilities to get in on the fun!
There is an incredibly unique swinging structure, that's even loads of fun for grownups!
Gardner Field Playground also has a fantastic section for small children! This will undoubtedly become one of your child's favorite parks to visit, with a tiny play structure and a teeter totter built for caregivers to join in the fun.
Gardner Field is located in West Acton, which is a unique and interesting place to visit. Located in the heart of West Acton Villlageworks you are walking distance from Westside Creamery, Acton Coffee House, True West, a solar-powered craft brewery and farm-to-table restaurant. The commuter rail runs across Massachusetts Avenue fairly often, so if you have a train lover, be sure to check the schedule and keep an eye out for the familiar silver and purple cars.
