Beat Bugs on Netflix

Each Beat Bugs episode ties in a song made famous by the Beatles in kid-friendly fashion

I’ll be honest, there are times when my Mini Macaronis want to watch something on TV, and I’ll cringe, knowing I have to endure 20 minutes of character voices and music that will drive me crazy. Don’t get me wrong, not all preschool shows are difficult for parents to sit through, but so many of them are.

That’s why I was thrilled to have a new option arrive on Netflix

Beat Bugs, created by Josh Wakely, is the new preschool-age show with something for everyone. Bright, colorful bug characters your Mini Macaronis will love, and Beatles tunes we grew up rocking along with now re-recorded by today’s hottest musical artists.

With episodes just 11 minutes long (perfect length for those short attention spans!), Beat Bugs follows the adventures of five bugs who are best friends exploring their suburban, overgrown, backyard home. If you grew up in the 80s, think “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” style, but with the latest 3D computer-generated animation really bringing the Beat Bugs and their adventures to life! When our family watched the Hey Bulldog episode, the kids laughed at how tiny the bugs were compared to their new puppy friend.

Along with a great story, each Beat Bugs episode ties in a song made famous by the Beatles in kid-friendly fashion, sung by one of the characters or guest stars that include mega-musicians such as P!nk, Rod Stewart, and Eddie Vedder. A few dance parties definitely broke out in our living room watching this great new show, but especially during “I’m Happy to Just Dance with You.”

Just check out this trailer video featuring “All You Need Is Love,” and you’ll see what I mean!

Once your children fall in love with the show, you’ll be thankful to know there are currently 52 episodes available on Netflix, so you won’t have to watch the same episode every day (except when you love it so much you want to!)

Beat Bugs has already captured the attention of many, taking home the gold for “Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animates Series” at the recent 44th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy® Awards. The release of a full-line of Beat Bugs products next month (at a major retailer that we will announce soon), also coincides with the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

In the months of June and July, you’ll also be able to catch Beat Bugs at My Gym locations nationwide, where kids who attend classes will enjoy Beat Bugs music, games and other fun activities, including coloring sheets and puppet shows.

Along with the Netflix episodes, your family can connect with their new friends on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
