Ask Your Kids: What was Important to Them in 2018?

Create a keepsake with our FREE printable to record your kids' answers!

I was thinking about all of the changes that we've been through this year... our little family has made some amazing things happen in the past 12 months, and within that time our kids have changed a lot!

Mentally, they're stronger, more balanced, and have more ambition than I think they did last year. When I thought about it, I realized how much everything from their tastes to their learning patterns have changed. I want to remember this time of growth and tuck it away deep inside my heart.

So this year I've decided that we're starting a New Year's family tradition. I'm going to take time with each child, one-on-one, and interview them. I want to know what they remember as being important from the past year and what they dream of in the future. I want to remember what their favorite foods were, who their best friend was, and what most scares them.

Once I have my answers, I'll keep them in my special "mom-hiding spot" to look back on and remember as they grow up -- a mental "snapshot" if you will. One day, I expect, we'll have fun as a family reviewing them together.

Want to "interview" your kids? l created an eight-page printable to help you get started, and am offering it to you for FREE! Hope it helps spark conversation with your kids!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, an incredible new year, and plenty of family fun as you ring in 2019!
