Find Your Family Fun on January 21 Martin Luther King Jr Day

January 17, 2019

Assuming the roads are clear after we get walloped with snow on Sunday, here are some local activities on Monday, January 21, Martin Luther King Jr Day:

Participate in volunteer service activities for Lexington's 6th Annual MLK Day of Service.  There are all kinds of activities to sign up for, including helping to sort items for needy families, bringing sand to seniors throughout town, making fleece blankets and scarves at Grace Chapel, making greeting cards for seniors, and much more.

Head over to Jam Time in Maynard for the Superhero Jammin' Science program at 10 AM.  Doors open at 9 AM, and you can stay and play afterward. $12 admission.

Enjoy a Karen K and the Jitterbugs concert at Temple Emunah in Lexington.  This fundraiser for the Billy Dalwin Pre-School starts at 10:30 AM.  Tickets are available online or at the door for $10 per person with a $30 family cap.

Normally closed on Mondays, the Discovery Museum in Acton is open on Monday, January 21. Come and help build Tinytropolis, a mini community put together by visitors and staff.

Enjoy the new snow cover with cross country skiing at Great Brook Ski Touring Center in Carlisle.  Equipment rentals are available. Check their site for conditions.

Book a day of coding fun for your kids at Code Wiz in Westford.  The MLK Jr Day program runs from 9 AM to 4 PM.  Kids age 7 and up can learn how to design an animation and then create their own project.
