Save the Date: Bedford Montessori School Open House on November 16

October 30, 2024

Visit Bedford Montessori School during their Open House on Saturday, November 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM!

Bedford Montessori School has been providing a quality and authentic Montessori early education to children in Bedford and the surrounding towns for 40 years. We provide friendly, caring and creative learning environments for children starting at age 18 months through to the end of Kindergarten year. The classrooms are traditional mixed-age Montessori classrooms with the emphasis on encouraging children to become independent, active learners pursuing their own interests while supported by caring, professional staff.  Each class is led by a certified Montessori teacher and the culture of the school is guided and defined by Montessori philosophy and pedagogy.

Our curriculum is based on the philosophy and pedagogy as developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, and our classrooms are equipped with a wide range of activities in all curriculum areas. Children are introduced to letter sounds and names, writing and spelling, matching numbers to quantity and various math operations. The classroom curriculum also provides the children with an introduction to classifying their environment, to geography, science, art and music. Children can work at their own speed and at their own level of ability whilst learning to be an active and responsible member of a classroom community.

The classroom set up encourages active exploration and self-education and our bright, sunlit classrooms contain attractive materials that are easily accessible to the children.  The classrooms are all equipped with child-size furniture and the children are also able to access our outdoor play areas.

Our teaching staff are caring professionals, dedicated to providing a stimulating environment for the children. The Montessori philosophy intentionally aims to encourage the children to develop a sense of order, concentration, and coordination all of which are required to master the various activities with increased skill. The activities in the classrooms are laid out in sequence and progress from concrete to abstract and from simple to complex. In all classrooms, the children learn to make their own work choices whilst also receiving individualized lessons from their teachers. Our goal is to enable children to reach their full potential during their time with us.

We are currently enrolling for Fall 2025.

Stop by their Open House on Saturday, November 16, from 1-3 PM to explore their classrooms and tour the school. Everyone is welcome!
