Lexington Creative Start is a Head-Start funded program that serves a diverse population of children, ages 2 to 5 years old. Our mission is to ensure the success of the child, empower the family, and strengthen the community. From the moment a child starts at our program, we focus on building language and literacy skills. In addition to literacy support, our curriculum is designed around science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), the creative arts, and daily music and movement activities. Families are encouraged to get involved in the classrooms through frequent family engagement activities. Our goal is to encourage parents to see themselves as lifelong learners, just like their children.

While Lexington Creative Start serves children from the full socio-economic spectrum, our focus is on identifying the most at-risk families and ensuring that their needs are met. We aim to provide children and families with an opportunity for growth through a nurturing environment that encourages participation and interaction in a full range of developmentally appropriate activities for families and children.
