Distinguished by its program, small enrollment, and unique freshwater island location, Pine Island Camp has offered fun, traditional camp activities to boys ages 9-15 since 1902 in a rustic Maine setting that develops a boy’s independence, imagination and character. Today, a summer at Pine Island remains very much as it was a century ago and intentionally different from most camp experiences. We are a screen- and tech-free summer camp, and proudly so.
The summer is designed to help boys develop self-confidence: campers have the independence to make substantial choices, the support of a community built on shared values, and enough time away to feel both truly on their own and an integral part of the community they’ve helped create. Whether your son is shy or gregarious, big or small, this camp will challenge him to be at his best in the varied circumstances of simple outdoor living. Generations of Pine Islanders have found their summers at camp to be among the most meaningful of their lives.
A typical camp experience includes daily activities on the island, such as canoeing, sailing, kayaking, tennis, archery, and woodshop; nightly campfire entertainment like songs, games, and skits; age-appropriate wilderness adventures throughout the woods and waters of New England, including to our island ocean campus off the coast of Maine; and tons of free time to explore friendships and new experiences. Pine Island is a six-week, single-session camp that runs from June 28th to August 11th, with tuition starting at $10,750. Scholarships and tuition support are available.
