Summer Drawing, Painting, and Manga Classes and Workshops at ActonArt Drawing School!

Classes run Monday June 24th through Friday, August 2nd (+ Thursday, August 8th due to July 4th closure)

WEEKLY CLASSES follow a similar schedule as our academic year drawing and fine art classes. These classes take place once a week for 6 weeks.  Classes are available for kids ages 5 through adults.  Class tuition begins at $190.

A number of our classes are available both IN-STUDIO and ONLINE. We refer to these classes as SIMULTANEOUS because they are presented to both in-studio and online students at the same time.

IN-STUDIO — Live, in-studio classes limited to ten students with three-foot minimum spacing

ONLINE — Dedicated online classes that are only available online at that time.

SIMULTANEOUS — are live, in-studio classes that are simultaneously streamed online via Zoom.

Simultaneous students must choose either studio or online. Switching may not be possible.

WORKSHOPS take place over 1 to 5 days, in the morning and / or afternoon. Topics range from foundation drawing type programs to unique, specialty programs featuring a variety of mediums and techniques.  Workshops run every week of our six week summer program for kids ages 7-teens.  Full and half day options are available.   Workshops are only available IN-STUDIO. There is NO Online option.  Tuition begins at $85 for a 1 day workshop.

ACTONART opened in June of 2003 with 30 students in a five-class summer program. During the past twenty years we have added a number of classes tailored to various student populations. Among them are Painting and Portfolio level classes which are designed to provide high level instruction for students who wish to pursue fine and commercial art careers, and classes designed for the interests and schedules of adults.

OUR MISSION is to provide the highest quality drawing and fine art process and technique instruction to children, teens and adults. We will always endeavor to accomplish this goal by creating a safe, supportive and non-critical environment for students. We believe that everyone can benefit by learning foundational drawing skills whether they intend to use them in their careers or as a means of personal self-expression or enjoyment.

ActonArt is a vital resource in the arts and is a nurturing leader in enabling a full education in Massachusetts.  ActonArt is a quiet force in putting the "A" into STEM, to empower it as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics).  I observe ActonArt as not only fostering growth in art itself but just as importantly awakening capacities for observation, imagination and flexible thinking in the sister STEM disciplines. - David Bragdon

I went to this art school for many years. I learned so much and felt so supported throughout my time there. All the teachers are amazing and the huge range of classes offered allows any artist to learn and grow. If your kid loves drawing or making art in any way I would 100% recommend having them take classes here. If I could give more than five stars I would. - Bec Reynolds
