Muster at 10:30 at 40 Stow Street to start parade at 11!Description
Celebrating the Confluence of Art & Nature! This Year's Theme: Embracing Diversity in a Climate of Change
EARTH DAY PARADE 10:30 am–11:30 am @ The Umbrella to The Old Manse. Giant puppets, stilters, dancers, music, costumes, banners, community groups, families, and friends meet at The Umbrella, 40 Stow Street, Concord, at 10:30 am and start to parade down Main and Monument Streets at 11 am.
RIVER CEREMONY 11:30 am–12:00 pm @ Minute Man National Historic Park @ The Old North Bridge. Singing, drumming, and the launching of Earth Floats at the river. Storytelling by Valerie Stephens.
ARTS & ENVIRONMENT FESTIVAL 12:00 pm–2:00 pm @ The Old Manse Lawn and Orchard. Featured attractions and performances include: “Ecology of Sound,” with Brazilian musician Ricardo Frota, “A Passion for Birds,“ with birder/actor Henry Lappen, “Judy Saves the Day” puppet show with Sarah Nolen, Mass Audubon/Drumlin Farm’s Birds of Prey. Enjoy food from Concord Market/Trail's End Cafe PLUS Music, table exhibitors, poetry challenge, and art activities throughout the afternoon. Programs presented by The Umbrella Arts & Environment Program, The Trustees of Reservations, National Park Service, Town of Concord, Concord Market/Trail's End Cafe, Massachusetts Cultural Council and ArtWeek.
