Description
The annual Liberty Pole Capping ceremony is one of the first activities of the annual Patriots Day celebrations. Colonial troops from throughout New England parade from Bedford Common to Wilson Park, located at the intersection of Great Rd, Concord Rd and North Rd. A Bedford Minuteman will climb the pole and, in defiance of King George, place a red cap over the top.
Great Rd is closed to traffic from the center of town to Wilson Park from 10:15 to noon, and vehicles may not park along that section of Great Rd. Park at the town center or high school on Mudge Way.
