Description

From the library:

Celebrate 150 years of history, literature, and innovation at the Concord Free Public Library! On Sunday, October 1 at 2 PM, local and state officials will commemorate this historic day on the steps of the Town House, reenacting the original Library dedication event 150 years ago. Immediately following, Concordians are free to join us in a procession from the Town House to the Main Library Front Lawn - with music and fun signs provided!

Additional remarks will be made at the Library including an appearance by John Palfrey, author of "Bibliotech: Why Libraries Matter More Than Ever in the Age of Google" and current President of the MacArthur Foundation. There will be cake, activity tables, and giveaways for all ages. This day is for citizens of Concord to come together and share in the wonder of knowledge, art, and technological innovation available at the Library, made possible only by the support of our loving community.

The party will wrap up around 4 PM, stay for the whole thing or drop by for part of it. No registration is required.
