February might be the shortest month of the year, but there's certainly no end to the events and holidays to celebrate during the 28-day month!

Black History Month
From the White House in 2022: "Each February, National Black History Month serves as both a celebration and a powerful reminder that Black history is American history, Black culture is American culture, and Black stories are essential to the ongoing story of America — our faults, our struggles, our progress, and our aspirations." Feb. 1-28
Honor Black History Month at Discovery Museum as they learn about Black Americans who have made important contributions to the fields of science, math, and art on February 3rd and February 28th.

Groundhog Day
Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? If he does, it's six more weeks of winter. Feb. 2
Head to Drumlin Farm in Lincoln and watch Ms. G (Drumlin Farm's own groundhog) as she wakes from her winter hibernation and “predicts” whether or not spring will come early this year.

Super Bowl LVII
We'll be there for Rihanna, the commercials, the food, and, oh yeah, the game itself. Make this giant jalapeno popper cheese ball in the shape of a football, guaranteed to be gone by the time the second half starts. Feb. 12

Here are ideas for a romantic Valentine's Day evening at home. See our Valentines Day Guide for a list of all the local Valentine's Themed event, craft and recipes! Feb. 14
